It’s about a year away and I have accomplished 0% of any wedding plans. Well that isn’t completely true. Dave and I do know that we want it to be located in Victoria. That’s at least 0.25% right?
This week I was supposed to look up some venues because we were going to make a quick trip to Victoria for ironically, a wedding. My first instinct was to type in “budget friendly, rustic wedding venues Victoria BC” but that ended in mass failure. I have envisioned something like a winery, indoor/outdoor, or a lovely inn. I have my eyes set on a few locations after some web browsing but I have this fear of starting the planning process where it will begin to snowball into a giant ball of wedding nightmares.
I got sidetracked at looking for reception venues and I ended up by finding these beauties by Maria Lucia Hohan instead. Blame it on my ADD.
I love coming across new blogs to follow and I usually have some high expectations before I add anything to my RSS feeds. This evening I discovered Honestly…WTF to find the DIY Pom Pom Garland, which is pretty rad if you ask me. I also found out how much I want a pair of suede mocassins and that I could use an attractive axe.
Fall is just around the corner, can you believe it? It seemed like it was just a few weeks ago that I retired my winter coat and brought out the sandals.
I took a quick visit to Zara last week and returned yesterday to be reminded of how much I enjoy their upcoming Fall/Winter collection. I’m digging the muted and neutral tones, the chunky knits, and all the peg leg love. Upon my recent trip to Zara Kids, I stumbled upon so much sophistication I couldn’t bear it so I caved and threw on that army green cape and wished I was 10 again. I really hope it is okay to be almost in your mid 20s and wear clothes from the children’s department. It probably isn’t but how can you say no to some of these pieces?

When I was in high school, I fell in love with Mr. John Mayer’s music. It wasn’t much of a secret but I didn’t flaunt the fact I adored his tunes because he kind of has/had a track record of being kind of a douche bag. Despite all the rumours, I still listened. I even bought his first couple of CDs which shows a lot because I sadly only own about 8 CDs.
I was reunited with my beloved Room of Squares CD and Heavier Things today and the rest was history. He’s been in the CD player all morning. I haven’t heard any of his recent work from his Battle Studies CD but I am sure it won’t disappoint.
Here’s a clip of one of my favs from his first CD, called Neon. He’s pretty rad live.
In my previous post about my aspirations, one of my dreams were to visit this beautiful place, Santorini, Greece. I found this picture of Oia Santorini and it makes me want to go there even more. Where do you want to go?
Last night, I spent a lovely evening with Peter that started with a nice pint of Guinness. It was followed by a delicious rib dinner at Irish Heather’s Long Table Series. You get a lot of bang for your buck and hope I can take part in another before the series ends. We started talking about goals and things we want to accomplish before we hit the grave. I have always had aspirations to do many things, many of which haven’t been fulfilled. Life is short. I took his advice and jotted a small list of aspirations that came to mind and hope that someday I will accomplish all of them.
